OUR PURPOSE

#TCKpurpose

Our goal is to help alleviate poverty in South West London, by helping feed the homeless and those in need, and providing them with other vital resources.

We provide a biweekly stall serving hot food and essential produce and run a local foodbank which operates as a drop-in collection service. Our aim is to strengthen our presence within the community, as a general support network and hub for resources to assist our guests. We believe that everyone in our community deserves to feel cared for and valued without prejudice.

OUR MISSION

#TCKmission

We are a passionate collection of volunteers with the ambition to help and support the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.

To relieve poverty in South West London by serving the homeless and needy as a community and without judgment. As a community, supporting those in the SW London area who are homeless and in need. Poverty can hold many negative connotations and we don't want to offend anyone.

#TCKactivity

Our food stall is open every Wednesday and Saturday outside Tooting Broadway Market (22-25 Tooting High Street SW17 0SN), please arrive at 6pm sharp. A network of local volunteers, local food businesses, regular sponsors and donors help us provide fresh produce, baked goods, hot food, nutritious and delicious dishes.

We also facilitate outreach within Wandsworth and surrounding areas providing hot food, food packs, sleeping bags and other essential supplies. Through our outreach efforts and presence at our stalls, we aim to be a trusted presence in our community to our guests, a presence that makes them feel acknowledged, integrated and valued.

Additionally, we deliver to refugee centres, hospitals and shelters.

The Tooting Community Foodbank (Price Close, 104 Upper Tooting Road, SW17 7EN) operates a drop in collection service every Friday from 9:30am-11:30am. We encourage those who can to drop off donations at this time too. We are always in need of food, toiletries, winter packs, sleeping bags and other essential item

We aim to act as a practical and emotional support network, providing stability to our guests, and adequate resources to signpost the best services and charities to meet their needs.

OUR VISION

To strengthen our community presence as a non-judgmental source of support for the homeless and needy by providing weekly hot food, essential food and other items and signposting guests to other local agencies. CARRYING OUT OUR VISION

#TCKexecute
  • We are open to all and aim to support guests through the provision of food, toiletries, winter packs, sleeping bags, clothing and other essential items
  • We look to provide practical and emotional support and to bring some stability to guests to enable and equip them to access services to better meet their needs through signposting to other charities
  • Through our regular outreach and stall we can provide the time and a space to develop relationships and trust with our guests. We have found this to be a crucial element that has helped our guests be acknowledged and valued so they feel part of a community and can integrate back into society.
  • We work in collaboration with other charities and organisations so that guests can access the best possible support from community services
